Willowbrook Lavender was founded in the autumn of 2000 by Mary Tarbitt, with the support of her husband Michael and their daughter Ruth.

The original lavender field was planted in a peaceful, secluded valley surrounded by rolling hills, creating a naturally calm and restorative environment in which the lavender flourished. As the business grew, Willowbrook Lavender later relocated to a rural property in Ramarama, where French lavender was planted once again and continues to thrive.

For nearly 20 years, Mary has been a familiar and much-loved presence at the Clevedon Farmers Market, selling her lavender beauty products and handcrafted floral creations every Sunday. Over time,Willowbrook Lavender grew into a true family business, with everyone lending a hand along the way.

In April 2025, Rose took over Willowbrook Lavender. Rose has known and worked alongside Mary since 2006, learning firsthand the care, values, and passion behind the business. With a deep love for nature, gardening, lavender, and flowers, Rose continues the tradition of thoughtfully blending natural botanicals into each product, while also bringing fresh creativity and new ideas.

Today, Willowbrook Lavender remains rooted in its original philosophy—creating beautiful, natural products inspired by the land, the seasons, and the calming power of lavender.
